Cattails is a rpg survival game you can get at steam for 7.50 dollars. In this game you play as a cat surviving in the wilderness. You hunt, explore the world, befriend, marry and fight others. You can even create your own camp and be the leader. It is similar to Stardew valley in many ways such as the graphics and some parts of the games such as mining and relationships. It also takes many elements from warrior cats as well however instead of clans you have colonies.
Survival
Survival is one of the more important parts of the game. There are a few passive skills you can improve, hunting, fighting, swimming and foraging, which you level up through xp. These make the game easier since you'll be able to do everything just a little bit faster. Improving your hunting will make it so aiming will be faster, the distance you need and in later stages you can locate where exactly the prey is in the corner map. Improving fighting will increase the amount of damage you do. Swimming will increase the amount of tiles you can swim. While improving foraging will increase the efficiency of herbs and in later levels will show you where the herbs are located. There are also active skills you can add, such as sprint, diplomacy, warp, heal and many others. You can purchase active skills for 100xp
Relationships
This game lets you build relationships with other characters and even have kittens with them. There are many characters you can talk to and give gifts to, improve your relationships. Some of which you can marry (if they have a heart on the bottom corner and not a shield). Those you can marry you can give red roses to once your close enough. Once you give them a red rose you begin dating them and once you reach a red heart you can marry them using a shiny trinket to propose. Once you get married they move into your den and if you agree to having kittens (which you can have with only one partner in one game) in either ten days or two years. If you decide to break up with your SO you can give them a black rose, however if you have kittens they will not go away and you won't be able to have kittens with another cat.
Custom Colonies
Once you complete the main quest which includes getting items and doing puzzles you get blessed by the forest guardian and be able to create your own colony and customize it how you like. You can choose the location, style and where everything inside the colony is located. If you have a mate they'll move with you and so will your kittens. There are also marriageable residents in the custom colony you can befriend and marry.
Mining
Mining is another feature of Cattails, there are two mines in this game. In the mines you destroy blocks and search for a way deeper. The deeper you go the more bats you have to battle and the better the ore. This detail is one of the most similar to Stardew Valley since each time you destroy a block you lose 1% of you hunger and instead of fighting slime and other creatures you have to defend yourself from bats. However unlike Stardew Valley you don't have to get home by 12am. You don't even need to sleep in Cattails unless its to save the game.
