Mafia2 : Why you must play this game in 2018?

Mafia II is an open world action-adventure video game developed by 2K Czech and published by 2K Games. Mafia 2 is very underrated but it deserves more attention from gamers. In this review, I will be presenting the points on why you must play Mafia2.

This is 2018 and I am playing a game from 2010, after playing I question myself why I didn’t played the game before. The experience I got from the game, was refreshing because after a very long time i found a game which was interesting and fun, also was supported by my crappy pc. The graphics isn’t too shabby as this is a game from 2010. The name of the game already indicates what kind of game it is.

You are playing as Vito Scaletta, a young and handsome Italian who returns from World War 2 after getting shot. He decides not to go back and with the help of his friends, he manages not to get back. After that he meets his mother and sister living in an old apartment and finds out that his dad had 2000$ loan and his mother and sister needs to pay it in a week. Vito couldn’t have earned 2000 $ in a week by doing honest jobs with pure labor so he decided to do crimes in order to get the cash. He already killed many people when he was in the war so killing others wasn’t hard for him to kill people for money.

The voice acting in this game, in my opinion, is really good especially Vito’s. Vito is smart, young handsome, cunning protagonist. The world is an open world game similar to GTA series if you have played one before. You have cars, guns, cops, gangs etc. As you progress in the story, lot of twists come that makes you engaged in the game and make it more interesting for you which is the reason I like the game even more.  But there’s not much do in this open world. There’s no sidequest that you can do like you can in Skyrim. You can drive cars but driving cars isn’t the strongest point of the game. You might find it annoying to drive back from one place to other place because there is no fast travel but I like it even more because I can enjoy the long drive along with the nice city. But the driver AI is really good cause they will try to overtake you if you block their way of driving. Fighting and shooting, is similar to many games. You dodge then fight back, it’s very similar if you have played any shooting game before. I like how the cops recognizes you in the car if you get to close to them after doing a crime. Cops won’t chase you for reason like passing through the traffic red light or smashing on to their car slowly but they will chase you down if you kill, smash someone’s car too hard etc. But they won’t chase you down to the end of the earth. They will leave you if you can run away from them. If you do a crime and if your car is wanted by the police, you can change your vehicle/ change color or if you are wanted by the police then you have to change your cloth. One thing that disappoints me is that you can’t buy cars in this game. You get to steal a car then change the palate to legalize your car. But overall this game is addicting and not very hardware demanding either.

I am super happy that I can run a good game like this on my potato pc. Most of the hardware demanding games these days aren’t even fun to play except for few games.

So I highly want you guys to give it a try. I already finished the game and now I am playing the game in hard mode because I want memorize every part of one of my favourite game. But do not buy the triple edition as mafia 3 sucks and I won’t recommend you to play mafia3. Mafia 3 is a dead and unfinished game. Mafia3 ruined Mafia2’s image but that’s why I want you guys to play the game even more. If I told you the story, you would definitely want to play the game but that will be spoiler. There are also DLC that you can buy to experience new storyline. The file size isn’t big and it has many chapters to play so it will be long and worth your money.
