    Identity V - Prospector Tips and Review

    Prospector is an auxiliary character in the team whose job is to decode cipher machines and to help teammates by disturbing the hunter through the use of magnets.


    Among the other survivors, the prospector is somehow a character that does not have too many weaknesses.
    Concerning its external traits, a prospector has the following strengths:
    1. Its healing speed is 20% faster
    2. Its speed on decoding is quite fast as the magnet disrupts the machines. However, at the same time, if you are bad at calibrating, I don't recommend you to use the prospector.
    3. For every 80 seconds, when the prospector is near machines or wardrobes, it will increase his speed for 50% for 2 seconds, which is quite useful when you are being chased.

    Use of the magnets

    • Note that the longer the distance the hunter travels before hitting an obstacle, the longer the time he will faint
    • The magnet is first set as repulsion
    1. Attraction
    • You can change your magnet’s polarity by pressing the white-colored magnet icon on the right side of the screen
    • The attraction is rather useful when u and the hunter are circulating a long object, or when you just pass by a corner of a wall in which the hunter is on the other side.
    • If you and the hunter are circulating an object, you can simply place the magnet on the ground. The hunter will step on it soon when he chases you around. If you are about to pass by a wall, just place the magnet on the floor and keep ongoing.
    • But be remember that you should stand right beside the object or wall, as during the attraction if you hit the obstacles, you will faint too, and it may not help you a lot as it shortens the time for you to run
    • By making the hunter faint, it allows you enough time to go to another place with unused boards or unblocked windows.
    • Attraction can also be used to save a teammate tied on a balloon. You simply need to walk closer to the hunter, press the magnet continuously, aim at the hunter, and release. When the hunter steps on the magnet, run to a nearby obstacle (even a tree) (but only works when you and the hunter is close enough) and he will automatically be attracted to you, hit the obstacle, faint, and release your teammate.

    1. Repulsion
    • Repulsion is more useful when the hunter is chasing you. Simply put your magnet on the ground, on paths that the hunter must travel, when you are escaping. When the hunter is right behind you, the magnet will activate automatically and will bounce the hunter away from you. Just note that there are no obstacles right in front of you to prevent you from being fainted during the repulsion.
    • If you are good at aiming, you can also choose to throw the magnet directly onto the hunter. By doing so, the magnet must be attracted to the hunter and it will not be wasted (as sometimes, hunter choose other paths to walk through, and may not step on your magnet)

    Conclusion and Tips

    In conclusion, the prospector is a useful auxiliary character with limited weaknesses which works better with communication between the teammates to help them to disturb the hunter or save them from the balloons.

    I recommend starters to practice throwing magnets directly onto hunters and to fully utilize attraction and repulsion according to the topography.

    You can also try to use the magnets to make the hunter faint before the chair (especially when you are not good at tricking the hunter to hit the chair), which allows you to remain 100% health and can help your teammate to block one damage and allow him/ her to reach a place with more unused boards and windows.
