Two more teams were knocked out of contention at WePlay! Mad Moon leaving three teams to fight for the title and trophy.
As the final day encroaches on a spectacular event, the final three teams left standing are of little surprise to fans.
Team Secret has become the first team to secure a place in the grand finals. The Europeans have been rocking the scene since their return for the second wave of DPC 2019-2020 events. They easily qualified for the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major where they took first place, went undefeated through the closed qualifiers for ESL One Los Angeles Major and destroyed their opponents at WePlay! Mad Moon, dropping only one game total so far.
Nigma esports has been running hot and cold but are posed to be the lower bracket kings seen emerge as the champions for the WePlay! Bukovel Minor just last month. The team is struggling and when they take unconventional drafts and lane assignments things seem to get a bit wonky and some have expressed their distaste for the team's antics. Nigma has been looking like nothing more than a shell of their former selves, almost as if they had been broken during the TI9 Grand Finals and couldn't seem to be mended. For some, their odd choices are a reflection of a team looking to find a way back into wins, for others it is a statement of apathy.
Whichever side is right (and the other left consequently) the team is still progressing through the lower brackets and will face off next against Virtus.pro in the lower bracket finals. VP is another former powerhouse that has been tinkering with its engine and looking for a way to fuel what used to be a well-oiled machine.
The lower bracket finals will kick off at 14:00 CET with the best-of-five grand finals taking place after.
