XCOM: Chimera Squad is a spin-off of the XCOM turn-based tactical strategy games. The title was created by the Firaxis Studio, which since 2012, closely supervises and ensures the development of the XCOM brand. The game story begins five years after the events that the player had the opportunity to experience in XCOM 2. In XCOM: Chimera Squad, the player oversees and controls a community consisting of aliens and people who live together and care for the metropolis City 31. Aliens have been expelled from the Blue Planet, but some individuals were very motivated to stay. It was enabled for them and since then aliens have been living and supporting each other, taking care of the new civilization and trying to rebuild it. However, there are sinister individuals who bother them and would love to interrupt the peace. For this, a special unit was established, which was called Chimera. It also includes aliens and people who unite against a common enemy to protect what has been newly created.
The game is divided into missions. During their implementation, the user must participate in various skirmishes, which in turn are divided into three phases. The first is the so-called entry mode and this is the start of military operations. The second is the right fight, and the third are strategic operations. As for the graphic design, it is modeled on the previous part of the game. However, it was decided to emphasize it a bit and the style gained an additional accent in the form of expressive colors.

In XCOM: Chimera Squad, the player takes control of a squad of aliens and people whose joint task is to take care of the metropolis called City 31. Aliens were previously expelled from the Blue Planet, but individuals who wanted to stay were allowed to. They began to cooperate and coexist with people, trying to create a new civilization. This turned out to be a realistic assumption, but not everyone liked it. To maintain order in the new community, a special unit called Chimera was established. It also includes aliens and people who join forces against a common enemy, preventing him from evil intentions.
The game is based on missions. During various tasks, the player participates in clashes, which are divided into three phases. The first is the entry mode, i.e. the beginning of military operations. The second is the right fight and the third are strategic operations.
