The protagonist is colonel Chlebnikow. He’s task is to save the colony from extinction. The threat are both hordes of terrifying mutants as well as the gradual lack of the green substance that protects people from radiation. The situation forces him to hit the road with a dangerous expedition in order to attempt to save himself and the others.
