Valve pushed out the 7.27b update for Dota 2 containing hero buffs and nerfs to match the previous item changes, but there was an error with the patch details upon release.
While players who saw the patch go live and went to look at the detailed notes in the Dota client were able to read them with no issues, those who tried to get the information on the Dota blog couldn’t find any information beyond the letter C.
An error on the website caused the patch notes to be posted with only the first three sections of hero changes and the few item reworks available to view, which led to the community confusion and memeing.
Valve quickly fixed the issue and the full patch notes are now available both in the game client and on the official Dota blog.
As for the actual changes, Monkey King Bat was hit with another change, with the recipe cost going up from 350 to 550 gold. Along with that, the Abyssal Blade, Mjollnir, Silver Edge, and Solar Crest can no longer be disassembled, while Echo Sabre gained that option.
Because this is the first part of the 7.27 update with hero changes, the bulk of the information revolves around trying to switch up the balance of the meta. Though it looks more like things have reverted to previous iterations rather than building on more recent patches.
Clinkz seems to have had the most work done, with five abilities and almost all of his Talents getting updates, including Death Pact being reworked and becoming his Ultimate.

ESL has added yet another high-level Dota 2 tournament to the August roster of events. ESL One Thailand Online will feature the best teams in the Americas and the combined Asia division starting on Aug. 8.
Both regions will run on separate schedules, with the Americas playing from Aug. 8 to 30 and the Asian Division running from Aug. 20 to Sept. 6.
Starting with the Americas, a total of eight teams will be included in the event, with six of them being direct invites and two coming from a set of qualifiers that will begin on July 28. A round-robin bracket between the top eight teams will result in four teams moving on to the playoffs to compete for $65,000.
The Asian Division is going to combine China and Southeast Asia into one singular bracket of 12 teams. Eight of those teams will be direct invites while two will come from the ESL Thailand Championship. The final pair will be decided through open qualifiers.
China and SEA will have separate open qualifiers running from Aug. 13 to 16, with the top team from each moving into a shared closed qualifier with other invited teams. The two top-placing squads from that qualifier will move on to the main event.
Thailand will also be represented by two teams from the local scene, with the top two squads from the ESL Thailand Championship 2020 season one securing a ticket to the tournament. That event will run from July 26 to Aug. 12.
ESL will start revealing the teams that are joining the roster through direct invites over the coming weeks as the qualifier sign-ups begin.

Aghanim, the mighty wizard who was the origin of the legendary Aghanim’s Scepter, is returning to Dota 2 with some of the mightiest monsters from multiple dimensions to test the might of every hero.
Starting now, players can group up with three of their friends or matchmake with a group to enter Aghanim’s Labyrinth and challenge various rooms full of powerful enemies. No Battle Pass is required to participate in the Summer Event either.
Players will be able to choose their path through the labyrinth, meaning at each turn you will select the beasts you will need to defeat to move forward. Throughout your journey, you will also collect shards of the shattered Aghanim’s Scepter that you can use to augment your chosen hero’s abilities.
Once you reach the deepest point in the labyrinth you will be facing off against the Apex Mage said to have once held the power of a demi-god. And if you manage to defeat Aghanim, even tougher challenges await should you return to the labyrinth in the future.
Those harder challenges are called Ascension Levels, which escalate the labyrinth’s challenge after each successful run. There are four Ascension Levels, with each granting unique rewards such as an Aghanim themed chat wheel voice line.
Each run in the labyrinth will let you power up your heroes with Blessings using Arcane Fragments, which will carry over regardless of if you fail to complete the maze. Players will receive a three times multiplier on the first 1,800 Arcane Fragments they earn each week.
Battle Pass owners who participate in the Aghanim’s Labyrinth event will be able to unlock up to 2,000 Battle Points each week.

The genderswapped Persona for Anti-Mage is now live in the Dota 2 International 2020 Battle Pass, which completely replaces the original model and character once selected.
Any player who has reached Battle Pass Level 305 will be able to claim the Persona as a reward and equip to Anti-Mage in order to use it in their matches.
Trained by the original Anti-Mage, the new practitioner of the Turstarkuri named Wei has been called into battle to test her skills. She has a new Hero Portrait, Topbar Portrait, and Minimap icon to help show that she is being treated as a different iteration of the hero, like with most other Personas.
Along with the smaller additions, she also has completely new animations and more than 900 Persona-exclusive voice lines.
None of the actual gameplay changes when using the Persona, but most of the details about the hero itself are changed to match the new lore and character traits. The same was true for the Toy Butcher Pudge Persona, which you can claim at Level 255.
This is the last Persona added in the TI10 Battle Pass, but once you unlock her, you can move on to collecting the new Arcana sets. Here are all of the levels related to Arcanas and Personas in the Battle pass.
    Personas and Arcanas
Pudge Persona – The Toy Butcher
    Unlocks at Level 255
    Anti-Mage Persona – The Disciple’s Path
    Unlocks at Level 305
Wraith King Arcana – The One True King
    Unlocks at Level 375
Queen of Pain Arcana – Eminence of Ristul
    Unlocks at Level 445

Vici Gaming and CDEC Gaming would meet for a third time at the OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China event, this time in the grand finals to determine who would be the champion.
Having met twice so far at OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China, both Vici Gaming and CDEC Gaming would be hungry to claim the victory in their third clash at the event. CDEC were able to claim the win when the two teams met in the group stage, while VG were able to claim some revenge in the upper bracket finals just a few days ago and the grand final would separate the two teams in a best-of-five brawl.
Going into the series, it was VG that seemed to just be way ahead of their opponent in every way possible. While game one lasted nearly an hour, that was not seen in the net worth or score line at all as VG dominated in every manner – including a massive Terrorblade from Zhang ‘Eurus’ Chengjun. VG continued to dominate in game two as well, even when CDEC had managed to take down Eurus’ Anti-Mage, the remaining four players held a superb high ground attempt and kept the game in the favour to take a 2-0 lead into the next game.'
But, with their backs against the wall, CDEC begun to show their strengths in game three, starting off by banning both the Terrorblade and Anti-Mage that terrorised them previously – and picking up a Spectre for Wang ‘Ame’ Chunyu. This proved to be the best move for CDEC, as they destroyed VG in a little over half an hour and a comeback begun to mount. CDEC went into game four looking like a completely new team and even though Ame’s Spectre was slowed down this time around, they still ran over their opponent, tying the series at 2-2 with a decisive game five on the way.
VG looked to move on and take the grand finals with a Terrorblade pick again, but a last pick Pugna from CDEC threw a massive spanner into the works and dominated them. While the early game period was fairly even between the teams, CDEC begun to take over the game before 15-minutes had passed, moving farther ahead more and more as the game continued. VG seemed in complete disarray and before 30-minutes had passed, GG was called.

Changes are happening in European roster shuffles as NiP and ex-OG seeds make some announcements.
The Dota 2 Tier 2 scene is as unstable as ever and the anticipated new league system for DPC 2020-2021 can't come soon enough to promote stability and more substantial opportunities for the struggling group.
This week the ex-OG Seeds players reported that the roster would not be staying together any longer.
Last month the roster had parted ways with the famed OG organization due to a dead DPC season and change in the event climate and landscape where both teams were not able to compete in the same events and the same divisions which created a conflict.
One day later Ninjas in Pyjamas had some roster changes as well.
Three months ago the organization bid farewell to Peter ‘PPD’ Dager after 1.5 years as the veteran NA player retired. They dropped the rest of the roster and picked up the team, previously known as Chicken Fighters.
Speculation is running high that the Swedish based organization will be picking up one of the ex-OG seeds free agents but there has not been any confirmation from any of the released players on either side on what their futures will hold.

Only one series would be seen today at OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China – the lower bracket finals between CDEC Gaming and Royal Never Give Up, with the losing team finishing in third place.
Yesterday we saw CDEC Gaming fall into the lower bracket finals of OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China after losing to Vici Gaming in the upper bracket finals as well as seeing Royal Never Give Up eliminate Invictus Gaming. This left us with a series between RNG and CDEC today and if their previous series against one another was anything to go by, CDEC would have no problem sweeping through their opponent.
Zeus was a hero pick from CDEC in their series against VG yesterday that did not work out for them, but the team decided to draft it in the first game of a lower bracket series today, even though RNG seemed to have a lineup that would easily kill of the hero. That did not deter CDEC as they took control of the early game period, never allowing Du ‘Monet’ Peng’s Terrorblade any control of his lane – while ensuring that Guo ‘Xm’ Hongcheng’s Zeus remained almost untouched all game.
With elimination now one loss away, RNG turned to a Slark pick, which seemed to give them great way to deal with their opponents in game two. While everything remained even for some time – and RNG even found some good team fights, after the 20-minute mark, they never found a kill. It took one team fight for CDEC to take complete control and thanks to Wang ‘Ame’ Chunyu’s Morphling, a GG was called after nearly half an hour.
The win will see RNG exit OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China in third place, while CDEC will set themselves up for another series against Vici Gaming in the grand finals which will take place tomorrow.

Earlier this week, Ninjas in Pyjamas parted ways with their Dota 2 captain, Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, but the news didn’t come via official channels. SoNNeiko himself announced his departure with a sentence over Twitter stating “I am out from nip !”
While NIP is yet to release an official announcement regarding SoNNeikO’s sudden removal, the team members thanked their captain for the good times together.

In the meantime, Dota 2 personalities from the CIS scene have started to reveal bits of information received from different sources, implying that the executive board at Ninjas in Pyjamas didn’t consult with the team when they decided to remove SoNNeikO. Russian language commentator Vitalii Nikolaevich “v1lat” Volochai announced that he will have SoNNeikO on his podcast to talk about the intriguing decision, but not before the organization releases an official statement. v1lat stated that according to his sources the decision of removing the player was taken by the organization, but it’s unclear if the team members had any involvement.
At the same time, Team Empire manager, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov posted on the Russian social media platform that NIP didn’t consult with the players before making the decision. He also speculates that NIP’s new Dota 2 manager will be Allen “Bonkers” Cook, former OG. Seed manager, who will come to the team along with OG. Seed’s captain, Petu “Peksu” Vaatainen.
None of the above are anything more than rumors, for now. However, it is worth mentioning that NIP Dota 2 team manager, Curtis Coffin, who was with the players ever since they were playing under the Chicken Fighters tag, has also announced his departure from NIP on the same day as SoNNeiko, July 7, 2020.
Interestingly enough, the former OG.Seed manager has retweeted Curtis’ post, but he didn’t make any comments.

Ninjas in Pyjamas’ will need a new leader for its Dota 2 team after captain Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev announced his departure from the roster today.
It is not known whether SoNNeikO’s exit is a mutual decision between the organization and the player. NiP has yet to address the player leaving on official channels. The Russian/Uzbek player thanked his teammates for “good days” and also did not mention a reason for his withdrawal.
Popular Dota 2 analyst and former professional player Kyle Freedman chimed in on the news, calling SoNNeikO’s exit as a “bad move” on NiP’s part.
SoNNeikO’s leadership and mechanical skill from the hard support role has been lauded by players and talent alike. He helped NiP gain a foothold in the competitive European region as a perennial dark horse. The Swedish organization picked up the pub stack, previously known as Chicken Fighters, after the roster punched above their weight through the ESL One Los Angeles Online tournament and ended up fourth.
Should the former Natus Vincere captain remain in Europe, there remain potential destinations for the SoNNeikO. Alliance’s position five is currently occupied by a loan player in Gambit Esports’ Artiom “fng” Barshack. He could also link up with a past teammate in Idan “MagicaL” Vardanian, who was let go by Na’Vi in June, and go through the entire rebuilding process once again.

Paul “Redeye” Chaloner has decided to step away from esports after misconduct accusations against the talent surfaced last week.
The last week in esports has been witness to multiple cases allegations of misconduct in one shape or another against talent and personalities. In less than one week NA caster Grant “GranDGranT” Harris announced his departure, followed almost immediately by Toby “TobiWan” Dawson due to publicized allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
Then the allegations of Paul “Redeye” Chaloner being a difficult person to work with, abusing power, and engaging in physical assault surfaced. Redeye denied most of the accusations, admitting that he was indeed difficult at times and had been dealing with much depression and mental health issues that often manifested as anger. More reports were made public, including one that brought a past, personal court case involving his children. That was the last straw for Redeye.
The news comes as a shock to many fans given Redeye's history in the esports scene.
Redeye is one of the most experienced hosts and commentators in Esports. Beginning his career in 2002, he was one of the world’s first professional electronic sports TV commentators providing coverage for Starcraft 2, Quake 3, Quake 4, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004, Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Smite, Dota 2, FIFA Soccer and almost all Racing Simulator games. He hosted the 2014 ESL One Frankfurt Germany Dota 2 tournament as his entry point into Dota 2 and became a cornerstone of hosting for some of the biggest events in Dota 2 including several The International events and Dota 2 Majors.
After leaving his employment as the Head of Broadcasting at Gfinity in 2016, he and Austin “Capitalist” Walsh partnered up with former heads at ESL UK Ben Woodward and Luke Cotton to launch Code Red Esports – a new esports agency.

Following accusations of sexual harassment and abuse by Toby “TobiWan” Dawson, talent agency CodeRed, BTS studios and valve have all stepped away from him.
Just days apart,a second prominent member of the talent in Dota 2 has been accused of sexual harassment and abuse. On the heels of Grant “GranDGranT” Harris's public removal from the scene, Toby “TobiWan” Dawson found himself front and center of the movement to hold figures accountable for inappropriate and unacceptable behaviors.
After a series of tweets and twitlongers (many since removed) that essentially removed himself from any accountability and then later downplayed involvement by TobiWan, victims finally came forward to disclose their experiences -- and it was brutal.
It didn't take long for his talent agency Code Red Esports and Beyond The Summit to make statements distancing themselves from the veteran shout caster.
It took even less time than expected for a move from Valve. The software development company that has hired TobiWan multiple times to represent Dota 2 at The International and other events quickly removed his voice lines in the game client.
The movement for holding others accountable for their actions and conduct continues to grow strong as more and more victims and advocates come forward.

Team PlusOne has been accused of match-fixing in the BTS Pro Series and has been removed from the event and all BTS events in the future.
Another day, another unfortunate report of match-fixing in Dota 2. This time it occurs in North America with Team PlusOne.
According to the accusations, several members of Team PlusOne were trying to throw a game against beastcoast. Ultimately didn't lose thanks to an incredible performance from dmn on Troll Warlord with a 24:2 record.
When it was clear the team wasn't going to lose as intended, two players from Team PlusOne disconnected from the game in order to force the loss (spoiler alert: They still won 3v5).
BTS has reported that three players, xuan, Ched, and Jano, will be prevented from participating in BTS events, while dnm and Wij will not. Ched and xuan had played together previously on Demon Slayers within the last year.
It was only last month that Newbee had been banned from all Chinese events including IMBA and Mars Media for alleged match-fixing. Based on reports, it seems that the once titans of China had engaged in some match-fixing during the last Minor qualifiers. Two weeks prior Cyber TRAKTOR was disqualified from We Play! Pushka League for match-fixing.
At this time it is unclear if Valve will step in and add an additional penalty or ban on the player involved. It has been some time since Valve has last swung the ban hammer.
Despite the lifetime bans that have been applied by Valve starting in 2016, match-fixing still seems to rear its ugly head from time to time.

With a clean sweep over Boom Esports, Geek Fam claimed the championship title of the BTS Pro Series Season 2 for SEA.
It wasn't as if Geek Fam was the favored team going into the event nor even in the group stage. In fact, the team barely squeaked into the upper brackets of the playoffs as the fourth team and with only one more win over the next team in line.
But once they were in the playoffs, Geek Fam outplayed and overpowered their opponents. Both of the SEA powerhouse teams dropped much earlier than was expected, with TNC taking a surprising 5-6th place finish.
Boom Esports who has been a steady rising force in the region fell to Geek Fam 2:1 in the upper bracket finals. Although they regained their footing and defeated Fnatic in order to gain access to the grand finals and exact their revenge on Geek Fam, the team seemed to be at a complete loss in the rematch. Losing two games that had stronger drafts to start, they just fell apart in the third game.

In a reverse sweep, Virtus.pro took the title 3:2 over FlytoMoon at Parimatch League Season 3.
Things got tense and almost seemed out of reach for Virtus.pro in the Grand Finals of Parimatch League Season 3, but the veteran team and once CIS powerhouse organization was able to pull out a few tricks and stellar performances to come out on top again.
Although their victory wasn't an easy one, taking all three games to the 30-40 minute mark and capitalizing on mistakes by FlytoMoon, Virtus.pro is starting to at least look like they have become more cohesive and polished finally.
A nearly perfect Ember Spirit game from Igor “iLTW” Filatov saved the series and pushed the fourth game. Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko was a key factor for the win in the fourth game, pushing things to the final deciding fifth game. It was he and Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok then split the map and forced FlytoMoon into a corner to take the fifth and final game of the series.
